I was coming off a grueling trial in the Montgomery County Domestic Relations Court, which I predicted would get messy, which I did not want to get in the middle of and yet, somehow, I never got out of it.
It turned out to be as complicated as I predicted, actually worse. So when we got on an airplane to go to Tina and Don's for spring break, I was ready. We sat on the beach at San Clemente, we ate at the pier, and watched the sunset from their deck. It was just the kind of breather I desperately needed.
Then, on Thursday night, April 1, went to a local sports bar to watch the UD Flyers beat North Carolina to win the NIT. That's Chloe, Tiffany, Kim, and Tina taking their eyes off the game for just a second in order to pose for a photograph.

Kobe arrived on a Saturday, and he came to own the house and our entire lives by Monday. He was so calm when Kim bought him, but he quickly showed he was anything but calm. We loved him anyway. As it turned out, we didn't adopt Kobe as much as it turned out that he adopted us.
